Your role

Based in our new headquarters in Amsterdam, you will be working closely with our VP Finance serving as his „right hand” and deputy. You will have a one-time opportunity to significantly develop the controlling function and set up new or improve  processes at the Group level.

This role will provide a unique exposure to managing and forecasting the P&L and cash flows, while supporting a dynamic and high growth organization. You will be responsible for providing overarching financial guidance for our operational sites and for standardizing their processes. You will also manage the Group’s Budget and drive financial modelling for the short and long term cashflows for our company.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, entrepreneurial Finance Business Partner with extensive experience in building and maintaining dynamic financial models. S/he loves sharing best practices and enjoys working in a team.​

Your responsibilities

Financial Planning/Decision Analysis:

  • Drive planning, reporting & analysis activities across P&L and cash flow through all sites;
  • Maintain Corporate P&L model and ensure consistency in assumptions across different models;
  • Build out and maintain Cash Flow forecasting models;
  • Supervising the Group’s monthly closing process;
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis requests, requiring P&L/ Cash flow scenario modelling;
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the finance organization to streamline processes and improve communication and flow of information to the business;
  • Partner with local Finance teams to provide guidance and support for treasury, tax and legal entity items & strategy;
  • Stay current in tax requirements and laws and recommend tax strategies to management. Ensure that all tax requirements are met on a timely basis and assist in the review of annual tax returns;
  • Collaboration and support in the design & management of company's transfer pricing policies.​​

Reporting:

  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting to our senior management, as well as preparation of board materials for the VP Finance;
  • Improve/Establish management reporting, forecasting and budgeting including the design of operating metrics reporting throughout the region.

If you have

  • BA/BS degree in accounting or finance required ideally complemented with a recognized Finance/Accountancy qualification (MBA is a plus);
  • 10 years work experience, 7-8 years' experience in financial planning & analysis gained within an international organization preferably in the Life-Science / Health care industry;
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial and high-growth environment;
  • Solid understanding of P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet statements, their drivers and experience modelling their interdependencies;​
  • Experience in building and maintaining robust & dynamic financial models;
  • Proven experience with IFRS;
  • Exposure to development and manufacturing practices and cost accounting;
  • Experience with ERP systems and planning and reporting tools desired;
  • Proven track record of building efficiencies and automation into existing and new and scalable process;
  • A commitment to collaborative leadership, management, teamwork, delegation, and the maintenance of a professional culture based on trust and mutual respect;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to balance multiple priorities in a very fast paced, dynamic environment;
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work across locations and time zones with travel required (~20 %);
  • Outstanding command in English, both spoken and written. Dutch and Polish would be an asset.​

[Purpose of and basis for the processing of personal data]

  1. Your personal data will be processed for the purpose:
  2. of carrying out the recruitment process by the Controller, i.e. assessment of your qualifications and skills needed for the job for which you are applying and of choosing the right person for the position for which you are applying by the Controller – pursuant to:
    • Article 6 (1)(c) of the GDPR, i.e. processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the Controller is subject under the provisions of labour law (in particular Article 221 1 of the Labour Code) with respect to the following personal details: Your name(s), surname, date of birth, contact details, education, professional qualifications previous employment;
    • 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR, i.e. under the consent that you gave voluntarily regarding the other personal details that you provided voluntarily in the application documents (in particular, in the CV, in the cover letter and the references provided); art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, i.e. data processing is necessary for purposes arising from legitimate interests pursued by the Controller – because of possible contact with the applicants even after the recruitment process is completed if the person qualified for employment chooses not to accept the job or the employment relationship with that person is terminated earlier than 12 months after the recruitment is completed;

  3. The Controller does not intend to transfer your personal data to the countries outside the European Economic Area or to any international organisation.

  1. Your personal data will be processed:
  • for 12 months – for the current recruitment process.
  • for 36 months – for future recruitment processes.
  • until an objection is lodged (if the processing is based on a legitimate interest of the Controller) or until the consent is withdrawn (if the processing is based on consent) – whichever occurs earlier.
  1. After these time limits, the Controller can process personal data until any claims expire.

  1. You have the right to access your personal data and the right to demand their rectification, erasure or restriction of their processing.
  2. You have the right to data portability, i.e. to receive from the Controller your personal data which you have provided to the Controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You can demand that the Controller transmit those data to another controller.
  3. To the extent to which the consent is the basis for the processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw it. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
  4. To the extent to which legitimate interests of the Controller are the basis for the processing of your personal data, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
  5. In order to exercise the above rights, you should contact the Controller or the Data Protection Officer using the aforementioned contact details (contact details provided above).
  6. In addition, you have the right to lodge a compliant with the supervisory authority in charge of personal data protection (President of the Personal Data Protection Office), if you are of an opinion that the processing of data violates the GDPR.
