Design Engineering Team Leader
Location: Katowice

Responsibilities

  • Disciplinary and technical leadership of subordinate employees
  • Functional control of all design activities for assigned customer development projects, as well as implementation and monitoring of data and product maturity along the PEP while meeting product cost targets and design budgets
  • Ensuring design system data is maintained within the design team in accordance with company standards and methodologies
  • Being part of the GES Design network - Implementation of the method and process specifications
  • Consulting and design support in the acquisition phase
  • Analysis and evaluation of customer-specific requirement specifications and specifications
  • Estimation and preparation of a design budget
  • Product concept definition in coordination with product management and customer requirements
  • Ensuring company and customer specific requirements are met throughout the development process
  • Monitoring and approval of design system data (CAD data, drawings, FMEA...)
  • Support in guidance of tasks to the international development and support teams or to external service providers and their follow-up
  • Deriving product or product improvement ideas to increase profitability
  • Initiate or participate in concept meetings and technical project issues. FMEA as well as prototype and product validation meetings

Requirements

  • Completed technical studies - preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics
  • Business management knowledge
  • Several years of experience in leading team leaders and employees, ideally in the field of research and development
  • Experience in development in the OEM environment
  • Experience in employee recruitment, motivation and development
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • Experience working in a matrix organization
  • Out-of-the-box-thinking, hands-on mentality, inventiveness and a high focus on results
  • High level of communication and teamwork skills
  • Customer-oriented / service-oriented way of thinking and working
  • Fluent in Polish and English, German would be an asset
